Discovering Ponte de Lima and its Vinho Verde Delights

I grew up with my father and other family members producing wine from the vineyards in our vegetable garden and the family fields. It was quite normal back then, since most people lived of agriculture. Looking back, it was such a calm environment, so much contact with nature, dirt, sunrise to sunset kind of sun exposure... It reminds me of the famous Portuguese word "saudade". Look it up! It is a word that Portuguese people take to heart and are so proud that we call it ours. It can't be translated, we declare!! 

The best part of it as a kid was really to play, to have an enormous lunch with everyone, usually it was "arroz de cabidela"  (while hearing the sentence "quem não trabalha, não come"), and being so tired and happy at the end of the day. 

Little did I know the paradise that my hometown was famous for!
